Digital Fabrication Specialist - Sohag

Facilitate activities of the FabLab and develop new creative technology applications. Responsible for the technical aspects of in terms operation and maintenance of equipment, while providing support and technical training to participants.

Responsibilites:

• Keep efficient function of lab equipment and reasonable consumption of materials in a smooth operation in coordination with lab coordinator

Technical Research and Development support

1. Search for new trends and technology applications of Digital Fabrication, and operations methodologies using the fab lab technologies.
2. Facilitate, advise and support hands-on projects with students, visitors and users.
3. Suggest new advanced equipment with technical specifications as per the capacity and scope of lab activity.
4. Research and develop new ideas and solutions for agreed upon challenges and create prototypes and products.
5. Apply corrective and preventive actions to ensure the efficiency of the machines.
6. Carry on operating machines, and follow-up their maintenance to make sure operation is smooth and function of machines are efficient.
7. Suggest new equipment with advanced applications.
8. Suggest contacts and different segments of the community with the intention of building alumni networks.
9. Maintain lab organized, maintain lab inventory and storage area.
10. Maintain a clean and well organized working environment as per safety regulations.

Delivery of training tracks

11. Deliver training tracks and curriculum developed by the education team.
12. Assist in logistics of the training programs with Community Engagement Specialist and lab coordinator including registration, payments, supplies, components & kits as per need.
13. Suggest new trainings proposals to fulfil new technology trends
14. Sort feedback from training's and conclude recommendations for development

Operation:

15. Update inventory weekly to ensure availability of enough tools, materials & electronics.
16. Host fab lab users and ensure their registration & their satisfaction when required.
17. Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project monthly lab warehouse status.
18. Record volunteers and visitors attendance when required

Bachelor's of Engineering(Mechatronic, electronics, architecture) or Applied Arts
